Hari Mohan Bangur Shares Insights on Contentment, Growth and Happiness at HCTalks

Kolkata: Shri Hari Mohan Bangur, Chairman of Shree Cement, shared his perspectives on contentment, ambition, personal growth and the pursuit of happiness at an edition of HCTalks, an interactive platform that brings together members of the business and professional community.
During the engaging conversation, Shri Bangur spoke about the apparent contrast between being satisfied with life and maintaining the drive to achieve greater goals. He emphasised that contentment and ambition serve different purposes in an individual’s journey.
“If you want to be happy, you have to cultivate contentment. But if you want to achieve growth, you must remain dissatisfied. Until there is dissatisfaction in your mind, growth cannot happen,” he said.
He further explained that individuals need to consciously decide whether their priority is to remain content or continue pursuing growth as a means of achieving greater fulfilment. His observations highlighted the importance of balancing inner satisfaction with a constructive desire for improvement.
The session featured Shri Hari Mohan Bangur in conversation with Arvind Daga and Tapan Gadodia, providing attendees with an opportunity to hear his views on business, life, leadership and the principles that have shaped his approach to growth and success.

Shri Bangur’s reflections offered attendees an opportunity to consider the relationship between personal contentment and the motivation to keep progressing.
