Kolkata, September 17, 2026: CITIZEN Watches celebrated the launch of its newly relocated flagship store at South City Mall, Kolkata, marking an important milestone in the brand’s journey in India.
The occasion was particularly significant as CITIZEN celebrates the 50th anniversary of its pioneering Eco-Drive technology, which has become synonymous with the brand among consumers worldwide.
The celebration was graced by popular Bengali actor Abir Chatterjee, along with senior management of CITIZEN Watches India, business partners and members of the media.
Speaking to the media, Abir Chatterjee expressed his admiration for CITIZEN’s high-precision timepieces and said he was intrigued by the moon-landing story behind BULOVA’s iconic Lunar Pilot collection. He also praised the new store’s design, describing it as thoughtfully created to appeal to discerning consumers, and said he enjoys keeping timeless watch pieces close to his heart, not merely on his wrist.
The event also marked five decades of Eco-Drive, CITIZEN’s innovative technology that harnesses light to power watches, eliminating the need for regular battery replacement and reflecting the brand’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
