Kolkata, November 5, 2026: A special promotional event for the upcoming Bengali film ‘Biye Fiye Niye’, produced under the banner of Anjan Dutt Productions and directed by National Award-winning music composer Neel Dutt, was held in Kolkata on November 4. The event took place at 6 Ballygunge Place – Flavours of Bengal, Kamalgazi, in the presence of eminent actor and filmmaker Anjan Dutt, director Neel Dutt, along with the film’s cast and crew.
During the event, the director and members of the cast interacted with the media and shared insights into the film, its storyline and the creative journey behind the project. The film marks Neel Dutt’s debut as a feature-film director.
Blending humour, romance, friendship, family relationships and the complexities of contemporary life, ‘Biye Fiye Niye’ promises an engaging comedy-drama set against the vibrant backdrop of a traditional Bengali wedding in Cooch Behar.
The narrative revolves around the wedding of Shromona and Rohan, bringing together two families, relatives, friends and former lovers. Amid the celebrations, several hidden truths, complicated relationships, marital conflicts and emotional entanglements gradually come to the surface.
Going beyond the conventional portrayal of wedding festivities, the film explores modern romance, changing social values, individual freedom, identity crises and the complexities of contemporary relationships. The conflict between the perspectives of the younger generation and established social expectations adds another dimension to the narrative.
The film features an ensemble cast comprising Sreemoyee Ghosh, Shaown Chakraborty, Anusha Viswanathan, Aniruddha Gupta, Alkaria Hashmi, Arghya Roy, Anwesha Bandyopadhyay and Sashreek Ganguly.
Aritra Chowdhury has handled cinematography, while editing has been undertaken by Arghyakamal Mitra. Tirthankar Majumdar is responsible for sound design. The story and screenplay have been developed by Neel Dutt, Shaown Chakraborty, Ushnak Basu and Arnab Ghosh.
Notably, ‘Biye Fiye Niye’ has already received recognition on the international film festival circuit. The film premiered at the Ganges sur Seine Film Festival in Paris in 2025, where it received a Special Jury Award. It was subsequently screened at the London Indian Film Festival 2026 and was also selected for the Indian Panorama section of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
With a compelling combination of wedding celebrations, humour and the untold realities of modern relationships, ‘Biye Fiye Niye’ aims to offer audiences a refreshing cinematic experience.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 4, 2026.
