Celebrating the spirit of Republic Day through service to society, the Mahendra Roy Lane Business Owners Association organized a free eye and general health check-up camp on Monday, January 26. The program was conducted at the Association’s office on Mahendra Roy Lane in association with ASG Eye Hospital and Fortis Hospital.
The camp offered comprehensive health services to local residents and traders, including computerized eye examinations, vision testing, and general health assessments. Specialist doctors were present to diagnose eye-related issues and provide basic medical guidance, enabling beneficiaries to access quality healthcare free of cost.
Extending its humanitarian outreach, the Association also arranged a blanket distribution program for underprivileged and cold-affected individuals, reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and compassion.
The event was attended by several prominent representatives and public figures, including Association President Zakir Hossain Mallick, Secretary Syed Abdul Shakir, Treasurer Naushad Ahmed, Assistant Secretary Shamim Akhtar, Vice President Mosharraf Hossain, and Assistant Treasurer Irfan Ahmed. Among other dignitaries present were Syed Faisal, Secretary of the West Bengal Minority Cell; Ehteshamul Haque Siddiqui, Organizing Secretary of the WBTMCC Minority Cell; Chairman Farid Khan; Professor Wajhul Haque, State President of BSBM; Entally MLA Shri Swarna Kamal Saha; Councillor Smt. Jolly Bose (Ward 59, KMC); and Ward President Robin Bose (TMC).
Speaking on the occasion, the Association stated that such social initiatives would continue in the coming days to ensure that essential health services reach people at the grassroots level. The program concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from the local community.
