Translated from Macedonian into English by Prof. (Dr)Daniela Andonovska-Trajkovska

—-Time And Man (Cut 49)—-

We enter the corridors of time willingly,
through the ancient gate that does not forgive,
and suddenly we stop remembering who we are,
and we build ourselves the ramparts of siege,
in order to unearth the dream of humankind,
and so that it may always hurt us when
the lines of events pass through us.

Fear of Flying

The fear of flying feeds
on the gravity with which reality
pulls down the dream,
and it bursts like a soap bubble,
as if it had never laughed
on the wings of a butterfly.

The Sky with Spread Wings (Incision 1)

Words like butterflies
with smiling wings
move the sky
into the eyes of passers-by.
Thoughts take flight
high into the future.
A colorful sky with spread wings
laughs and weeps
in the gaze of a morning.

Thoughts Like Butterflies (Incision 55)

There are thoughts that, like butterflies,
land in other people’s sentences,
obediently resting on the shoulder of loneliness,
and quietly watching through the window
before which life unfolds.
They do not even sense
that someone could crush their tiny hearts
with a single wave of a hand,
even though they are on the other side of the glass.

Metaphor Of Life (Cut 56)

From the covers of a book
a white thought flew out,
spread its wings across the sky,
and landed in the heart of a child.
And then it woke up inside his childish drawing,
where a snowman touches the sky
with his hat made of dreams.
The sound of a car horn
stretches along the road like a straight line
so it can be seen,
while people walk freely across the sky
as if stepping on the earth.
Adults are foolish –
they cannot even imagine how much poetry
lives in a child’s drawing stuck on the fridge
like a calendar that holds
the metaphor of life.
