Kolkata, October 7, 2026: NIF Global Salt Lake, recognised as a centre of excellence in fashion and interior design, presented AGOMONI 2026, a vibrant fashion showcase by its Fashion Design Department, celebrating creativity, cultural heritage, individuality and the spirit of self-expression.
The showcase featured five distinctive fashion sequences, each exploring a unique aesthetic, narrative and design philosophy. The event also included cultural performances by students, bringing together fashion, dance and the festive spirit.
The five collections included Akaar, inspired by abstract folk art and traditional craftsmanship; Draped Power, blending structured workwear with fluid festive drapes; Astitwa, portraying a transgender individual’s journey towards identity, acceptance and self-expression; Nocturnal Drifters, drawing inspiration from punk, street culture, rave and grunge aesthetics; and Rooh-e-Pankh, celebrating femininity as a universal expression of compassion, grace, resilience and strength, deeply rooted in Indian heritage.
Through these collections, students explored diverse creative expressions, combining traditional techniques, contemporary silhouettes, innovative textures and distinctive colour palettes. The designs reflected the harmonious interplay of heritage and modernity while highlighting the transformative power of fashion.
NIF Global Salt Lake stated that its educational approach focuses on industry-oriented learning, professional skill development and global exposure. According to the institute, over 98 per cent of its Fashion Design students have secured placements with leading brands, including Sabyasachi Calcutta, Adidas, Zara, Azzaro Moda, Nike, Jack & Jones and Calvin Klein. Students have also showcased their creations at prominent platforms such as London Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and Lakmé Fashion Week.
With AGOMONI 2026, NIF Global Salt Lake continued its endeavour to nurture emerging designers who combine creative vision with cultural awareness and professional expertise. The showcase provided students with a platform to transform their ideas into compelling fashion narratives, celebrating new beginnings, diversity and the limitless possibilities of self-expression.
