Swadeshi Week Outreach Programme Held Across Shyambazar and Bagbazar

Kolkata, September 28: An extensive public outreach programme was organised across Shyambazar and Bagbazar on Monday as part of the ongoing Swadeshi Week observance by the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Kolkata Mahanagar.
The initiative aimed to take the message of indigenous production, economic self-reliance and strengthening local enterprises directly to the people. As part of the campaign, volunteers conducted awareness activities at several locations across the two neighbourhoods.
The programme included auto-rickshaw campaigning, street-corner interactions and distribution of leaflets. Volunteers interacted with residents and commuters, highlighting the importance of supporting domestic production and creating greater awareness about locally manufactured goods, small producers and entrepreneurs.
According to the organisers, the objective was to take the concept of Swadeshi beyond a symbolic observance and connect it with everyday economic choices, local employment and the strengthening of indigenous production capabilities.
The Swadeshi Week observance is being held from September 25, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, to October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Various public-awareness and outreach programmes are being conducted during the period.
The programme was attended by Swastik Sharma, Convener, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Kolkata Mahanagar, along with Shubhajit Dattagupta, Anik Pal, Arpan Saha and Arati Basu.
