Kolkata, September 27, 2026: The Independent Consultants and Advisors Association (ICAA) MFD Association successfully hosted the “ICAA Alt Grand Convention 2026” at The Lalit Great Eastern Hotel in Kolkata, bringing together regulators, industry leaders, asset managers, wealth professionals and financial distributors to discuss the evolving landscape of India’s alternative investment industry.
The convention was inaugurated by Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, Hon’ble Finance Minister, Government of West Bengal, along with several senior and prominent representatives from India’s financial services sector.
Representatives and industry leaders associated with ICC, SEBI, AMFI, APMI, IFSCA–GIFT City, MFU, KFintech, Willzini, Shriram Mutual Fund, Choice Mutual Fund, Jio BlackRock Mutual Fund and PGP Academy, among others, participated in the convention.
The programme focused on the development of Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs), investment opportunities in GIFT City and other emerging investment solutions.
The convention also highlighted opportunities available to the mutual fund distribution community and discussed how distributors and wealth professionals can understand emerging investment products, identify suitable investor segments and build the required capabilities.
A strong emphasis was placed on investor suitability, transparency, investor awareness and compliance with regulatory requirements, with discussions aimed at strengthening responsible participation in India’s evolving alternative investment ecosystem.
