Kolkata, August 29, 2026: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 of the All India Human Rights Council concluded successfully at the Kolkata Press Club on August 29, marking a significant organisational milestone with the participation of delegates from across the country.
The AGM witnessed the presence of the Council’s national leadership and representatives associated with its various organisational wings. The meeting was conducted in a disciplined and legally compliant manner, reflecting the Council’s commitment to institutional accountability, organisational cohesion and the advancement of human rights.
Addressing the gathering, Jitendra Pal Singh, National President of the All India Human Rights Council, expressed his profound gratitude to all members, delegates and the distinguished leadership panel for their dedicated cooperation in making the AGM a historic and successful occasion. He appreciated the collective efforts that ensured the proceedings were conducted with discipline and in accordance with the requisite legal and organisational framework.
The distinguished dignitaries present at the AGM included Jitendra Pal Singh, National President; Md. Rais Ahmad Khan, National Vice President; Sk. Hassan, National Organising General Secretary; Rahul Kumar Yadav, National Treasurer; Dr. Mohammad Feroz Alam, National Chief Patron; Dr. Bishop Aloke Mukherjee, Chairman, National Advisory Committee; Dr. Tarsem Singh Sohanpal, Vice Chairman, National Advisory Committee; Advocate Samarjit De, Trustee and newly appointed National Secretary; Amar Singh, National Joint Secretary; and Naseeruddin Mollah, National Organization Development Incharge.
The appointment of Advocate Samarjit De as the newly appointed National Secretary was among the notable organisational developments associated with the AGM.
The Council also placed on record its appreciation for the unwavering contribution and support extended by the office-bearers and members of the State, District and Block Committees, as well as the Women Cell and Youth Cell. Their sustained involvement was acknowledged as an integral component of the organisation’s nationwide functioning and continued organisational development.
With participation from delegates representing different parts of the country, the AGM served as an important platform for organisational deliberation, leadership coordination and reinforcement of the Council’s institutional objectives. The successful conclusion of the AGM reaffirmed the organisation’s collective resolve to continue its activities with greater discipline, responsibility and commitment towards human rights.
