Kamel Pirer AalamatRe-publicationNurul Islam KhanThe book ‘Kameler Pirer Alamat’ (Signs of a True Spiritual Guide), originally written by Pir Hazrat Mejla Huzur (RA), has been republished and unveiled at Furfura Sharif in a grand ceremony.Although the original book is only a few pages long, it carries considerable significance.
It offers guidance on identifying genuine religious teachers and spiritual guides at a time when society is increasingly crowded with fraudulent Pirs. Ordinary people are often left confused and misled. The author argues that the fatwas and teachings of fake Pirs are largely responsible for leading people towards shirk (associating partners with Allah) and bid’ah (religious innovations).Going beyond the teachings of the holy book and Hadith, these self-proclaimed religious figures allegedly attempt to promote their own deceptive practices for commercial gain. Pir Mejla Huzur(RA) challenged such religious exploitation and pointed readers towards the right path. The book is expected to help readers distinguish between genuine and fraudulent spiritual guides and develop a clearer understanding of authentic religious teachings.Pirzada Uzair Siddiqui has expanded the original work by explaining its references and arguments in the light of the Quran and Hadith. His detailed annotations make the material more accessible to ordinary readers. His efforts deserve appreciation, as the original short booklet has been transformed into a valuable document of nearly 140 pages through extensive explanations and commentary. This expansion also reflects his long-standing habit of intensive study and research.According to Hazrat Pir Dada Huzur, Mejla Huzur was an “ocean of knowledge”. He was deeply learned in the Holy book and Sharia, and his profound knowledge, sharp intellect and mastery of language enabled him to convey comprehensive ideas in a concise manner. Pirzada Uzair Siddiqui has presented the original work in a more accessible form for contemporary readers. After nearly 80 years, the long-standing effort to bring the work back to readers has finally borne fruit. The re-publication was marked on the auspicious occasion of the Isale Sawab gathering held on 21 Ashwin in memory of Hazrat Pir Chhoto Huzur. The book remains relevant in the present context. It has been published by Pirzada Alhaj Maulana Muhammad Abu Taher Siddiqui Al-Qurai-shi (Hafizahullah), who has also made significant contributions by publishing several other valuable religious works. Alongside organising religious gatherings, he has promoted the importance of books and reading by bringing out new publications, thereby enriching society through his efforts. Several pirs have praised the noble initiative undertaken by the son of Pir Chhoto Huzur. The book is expected to help readers recognise genuine spiritual guides and expose those who exploit people in the name of religion.Kamel Pir’s republication is undoubtedly a noteworthy initiative.
