Kolkata, October 2, 2026: The trailer of the much-awaited Bengali film ‘Bohurupi: The Golden Daku’ was unveiled at a grand event at Taj Vivanta, Kolkata, on Friday. The event was attended by the film’s lead actors, directors, cast and crew members, and representatives of the media. Directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 15, 2026, during the Durga Puja festive season.
The grand trailer launch was attended by Nandita Roy, Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Koushani Mukherjee, Rajatava Dutta, Shantilal Mukherjee, along with other members of the cast and crew.
The trailer offers a gripping glimpse into a story filled with crime, police investigation, mystery, action, emotion and intense conflicts. At the centre of the narrative is Bikram Pramanik, played by Shiboprosad Mukherjee, whose return to the world of crime becomes the key turning point of the story. Jisshu Sengupta portrays police officer Ayan, who begins investigating Bikram and his activities.
A robbery at a jewellery store brings the two sides face to face, setting the stage for a tense chase and a battle of wits between the criminal and the investigating officer.
Alongside the central storyline, the trailer also highlights Bengal’s rich folk-cultural heritage. The traditional art form of Bahurupi receives prominence, while glimpses of cultural traditions such as Gambhira add a distinctive regional character to the film. Koushani Mukherjee and Sohini Sarkar will also be seen in important roles.
The film has already generated considerable curiosity through songs released earlier, including ‘Phool Phutechhe’, ‘Bhulte Parbe Na’ and ‘Moydamukho Hit’. ‘Phool Phutechhe’ was launched on August 28 at THE DOCKYARD CO., while ‘Bhulte Parbe Na’ was released on September 7 at Taj Taal Kutir. Meanwhile, ‘Moydamukho Hit’ was unveiled on September 16 at Uttam Mancha in the presence of several prominent personalities from the film industry.
Produced by Windows Production, ‘Bohurupi: The Golden Daku’ blends crime and mystery with action, human relationships, emotions and Bengal’s cultural heritage. The film is the second instalment following the widely acclaimed Bengali film ‘Bohurupi’, which was released in 2024.
Combining a crime-driven narrative with traditional Bengali culture, ‘Bohurupi: The Golden Daku’ is scheduled to hit theatres on October 15, 2026, during the Durga Puja season.
