Seminar on the occasion of United Nations’ World Environment Day 2025

In commemoration of United Nations’ World Environment Day 2025, Pragyan Foundation in association with Divine Bliss Foundation, organized a highly impactful seminar on Environment, Health, and Sustainable Development on Thursday, 5th June 2025.

The seminar served as a dynamic platform for thought leaders, academicians, environmentalists, and global dignitaries to share their perspectives on the urgent challenges facing our planet and the interrelated themes of ecological balance, public health, and sustainable growth.

The event was graced by several distinguished speakers who enriched the discourse with their insightful contributions. Padmashri Dr. Vijay Kumar Shah from Sangli, Maharashtra, an eminent environmentalist and humanitarian, shared his decades-long experience in sustainable practices and community-driven ecological initiatives. Dr. Buhari Isah from Nigeria offered a global perspective on environmental degradation and emphasized the importance of international solidarity in combating climate change. Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, Director of Divine Bliss Foundation, spoke passionately about the need to integrate spiritual wisdom with environmental action, underlining the importance of inner harmony as the basis for outer ecological balance. Dr. Aaaz Ahmad of the Gandhi Satyagrah Mission highlighted the relevance of Gandhian principles in today’s environmental context and called for a return to simplicity, non-violence, and mindful consumption. Mr. Chandan Agarwal, Managing Trustee of Pragyan Foundation, delivered a compelling keynote address, emphasizing the foundation’s dedication to creating awareness and empowering communities through education, sustainability, and holistic well-being.

The seminar was further dignified by heartfelt goodwill messages from several prominent national and international leaders, who conveyed their support and encouragement for the initiative. Among them were Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways; Shri Ramen Deka, Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh; Shri Acharya Devvrat, Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat; Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe; Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education; and the Honorable Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kolkata. Their messages reflected a shared commitment to the global environmental cause and acknowledged the role of such platforms in inspiring collective action.

The seminar concluded with a resounding affirmation of this year’s World Environment Day theme, echoing the call for “One Earth and One Health.”

All present pledged to continue working toward a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future, reinforcing the urgent need for collaboration across sectors and borders. The event stood as a testament to the power of dialogue, vision, and shared responsibility in building a better world for generations to come.
