Riddhi Bhattacharya, Kolkata: Durga Puja is synonymous with a unique blend of Bengali emotion, tradition and elegance. Adding greater depth to this cultural spirit, Haritoki Rajbari hosted a royal showcase of traditional Bengali looks and a new collection of outfits specially created for the upcoming Durga Puja.
Set against the historic backdrop of the Rajbari, the event featured traditional attire, aesthetic makeup and the participation of emerging models, making it a special attraction. Organised on the initiative of Trina Bhowmik and Payel Saha, the event marked a new chapter in their creative journey. Notably, organiser Trina Bhowmik also participated as a model at the event.
Along with presenting the quintessential Bengali look in a contemporary style, one of the key objectives of the initiative was to provide emerging models with an opportunity to step forward and showcase their talent.
Speaking about their first initiative, the organisers said, “The first step is always special. For us, this event is not merely a showcase of makeup and fashion, but an effort to turn a dream into reality. Along with taking Bengali traditions to the new generation, we want to provide talented new models with a platform to present themselves with confidence. Every person who walked the ramp today has their own talent and potential. We believe that with the right opportunity, everyone can create their own identity.”
They further added, “Our message to the new models is—never underestimate your dreams. Taking the first step onto a stage may seem difficult, but that very step can one day lead you towards success. With confidence, hard work and belief in yourself, every dream can eventually become a reality.”
The models who participated in the event were Disha Dutta, Jayshree Das Sharma, Srijita Saha, Shreyasi Ghoshal, Trina Bhowmik, Pallabi Naskar, Rakhi Pramanik, Utsa Bandyopadhyay, Anita Haldar, Sushmita Nandi, Raima Roy, Sohini Ghosh and Durga Sarkar.
