Indian Institute of Packaging organized National Conference of “The Future of Packaging: Innovate–Integrate–Inspire” on 26 & 27 Feb. in Kolkata

The National Conference organized by Institute Of Packaging, Kolkata on “The Future of Packaging: Innovate–Integrate–Inspire” successfully commenced on Day-1 (26 February, 2026) at ITC Sonar, Kolkata with enthusiastic participation of 300 delegates from industry, academia, research, policy bodies, startups, sponsors and students. The inaugural session was graced by Shri P. K. Bharadwaj (Chief General Manager, NABARD, West Bengal RO) as Chief Guest, along with Shri R. K. Mishra, IRS – Director, Indian Institute of Packaging, and distinguished members of the IIP Kolkata Conference Committee. The day featured impactful plenary sessions, expert panels, technical discussions and industry interactions emphasizing innovation, digital transformation, skill development and policy-aligned academia–industry collaboration, strengthening knowledge dissemination and industry–academia engagement in the packaging sector.

Day-2 of the National Conference “Future of Packaging: Innovate–Integrate–Inspire”, organized by Institute Of Packaging, Kolkata took place on 27 February, 2026 at ITC Sonar, Kolkata with active and focused participation of 250 delegates. The day was centered on the theme “Circular Economy & Plastic Waste Management Regulations” under the Sensitization & Capacity Building Training programme of West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB). The welcome session was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr. Kalyan Rudra, Chairman, WBPCB, and Shri Sazzad Alam, ACS, Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam (Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprise Department). The sessions featured insightful addresses by policymakers, industry leaders and academicians, complemented by engaging panel discussions on EPR compliance, advanced recycling technologies and sustainable packaging practices. Poster presentations, start-up incubation conclave and research innovation sessions further highlighted emerging solutions, fostering regulatory awareness, capacity building, cross-sector dialogue and meaningful knowledge exchange toward building a circular, compliant and responsible packaging ecosystem.
