Dr. S.K. Agarwal Honoured with Bhagwan Mahaveer Shanti Samman.
In a distinguished ceremony at the Press Club, Kolkata, Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal was conferred with the prestigious “Bhagwan Mahaveer Shanti Samman” (Lord Mahaveer Peace Award) by the Lions Club of Kolkata Magnates.
The honour was bestowed upon Dr. Agarwal in recognition of his exceptional contributions towards promoting the ideals of Lord Mahaveer — including non-violence, compassion, vegetarianism, and committed social service.
The event saw the presence of several eminent personalities such as renowned sitarist Parthapratim Roy (Cultural Advisor of Rotary Club of Kasba), Asish Basak, Charter President of Lions Club of Kolkata Magnates, Yoga-Guru Chandan Das, educationist Prof. Dr. Tinni Dutta, journalist Papri Das, poet Sangita Das, along with other distinguished guests from cultural, academic, and social spheres.
Expressing deep gratitude, Dr. Agarwal dedicated the award to all individuals working for peace, harmony, and the upliftment of society. He also stressed the timeless relevance of Lord Mahaveer’s teachings in the modern world.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and a unified call to spread compassion and non-violence across communities.
