In a world often overwhelmed by challenges, there are individuals who quietly rewrite stories of despair into hope. Rituparna Sen is one such changemaker—whose journey as a social worker has touched hundreds of lives through thoughtful, grassroots-level initiatives.

Her story began with a bold step during the COVID-19 crisis: the formation of Health Aide, an NGO that quickly became a lifeline for many. From organizing emergency health camps to distributing oxygen cylinders at the height of the pandemic, Rituparna and her team were on the frontlines, ensuring help reached where it was needed most. Today, Health Aide continues its mission, holding regular medical and eye check-up camps that provide crucial care to underserved communities.

But healthcare was just the beginning. Rituparna’s commitment soon extended to education, especially for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Volunteering at Sishu Kalyan School, Chetla she took on a pro bono role where she introduced tools like projectors for e-learning, arranged uniforms, and ensured the children received healthy meals—turning a humble classroom into a haven of opportunity.

While working closely with the children’s families, another issue came into sharp focus: the economic vulnerability of women in these communities. Determined to address this, Rituparna launched Little Hand, Little Help, a vocational training center focused on teaching crafts and needlework. For many women in slum areas, this initiative became a gateway to financial independence and self-confidence.

What sets Rituparna apart is not just the scale of her work, but the heart behind it. She doesn’t see problems in isolation—she connects the dots between healthcare, education and empowerment, building sustainable support systems that lift entire communities.

Through resilience, empathy and hands-on action, Rituparna Sen has become more than a social worker—she’s a catalyst for change, proving that even the smallest steps, when taken with purpose, can lead to extraordinary impact.
