‘Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen’ Discussion Meet, Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 Ceremony and Book Release Held at MP Birla Planetarium

On the occasion of the 159th birth anniversary of renowned historian, folklorist and educationist Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen, the ‘Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen Discussion Meeting’ and ‘Lifetime Achievement Award 2025’ ceremony was held with great dignity at the MP Birla Planetarium, Kolkata.
The event was organized by the Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen Research Society, India.

Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 Presented to Eminent Personalities

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards – 2025 were conferred upon four distinguished individuals for their remarkable contribution in their respective fields:

• Dr. Abdur Rahim Gazi – Professor, Department of Bengali, Aliah University

• Minati Dutta Mishra – National Award-winning Teacher

• Dr. Subrata Bhattacharya – Former Eye Examiner, Calcutta Medical College

• Ms. Shanti Das – Additional Superintendent of Police, West Bengal

Their dedication to education, public service and social welfare was acknowledged and celebrated by the Society.

Release of the Novel ‘Virudhak’

On the same occasion, ‘Virudhak’, a new novel authored by Abhijit Barua of Chittagong, was formally released.
The book launch was graced by eminent dignitaries, including:

• Scientist Dr. Arup Mitra

• Professor Dr. Manbendranath Saha, Bengali Department, Visva-Bharati

• Dr. Amalkanti Roy, former Joint Secretary, Government of West Bengal

• And several other respected guests and academicians

The presence of these distinguished personalities added intellectual depth and significance to the ceremony.

Event Moderation and Coordination

The entire programme was smoothly moderated and conducted by:

• Debkanya Sen – General Secretary, ACDR Society

• Dr. Bimal Kumar Thandar – Vice-President, ACDR Society & Associate Professor, Bengali Department, Kabi Joydev College
