Resham Shilpi launched two new stores in Gariahat and New Town
Resham Shilpi, an innovative initiative of the Government of West Bengal to promote exquisite silk products made by traditional weavers, has launched two new stores, one each in Gariahat and New Town, on 12 March 2025.
Fashion connoisseurs are going to have consequent field days, with the stores offering discounts up to 30% on all products from the day of opening, until 14 April 2025, the eve of Bengali New Year.
Born out of the Government’s vision of preserving, nurturing and promoting the traditional weaving industry of West Bengal, Resham Shilpi is a chain of stores operated by the Paschim Banga Resham Shilpi Samabaya Mahasangha Ltd. (PBRSSM Ltd.) under the aegis of the Department of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises & Textiles, Government of West Bengal.
The stores are considered favourites amongst the discerning fashion aficionados, both young and old, for their wide range of offerings, including silk printed saree, Tussar printed saree, Garad, Baluchari, Katan silk, Kalakshetra, Matka, Batik Print, Hand Woven and Hand Painted, Embroidery, cotton saree, kantha stitch saree and kurta for women. It also offers a wide variety of kurtas and shirts for men alongside handicrafts from distant places of West Bengal.
The inauguration of these two brand new showrooms will mark the launch of two new product categories – kid’s wear and eco-printed men’s wear.
With existing stores at Garia (near Dinabandhu Andrews College), Dakshinapan Shopping Complex, Kankurgachi (VIP Market), Uttarapan Shopping Complex, Barasat (Colony More)
Durgapur (Benachiti), and Esplanade (11A, Esplanade Row East), the Government on popular demand has decided to launch these two new stores at New Town (Nazrul Tirtha, AF-01/4 Biswa
Bangla Sarani, New Town, Kolkata 700156) and Gariahat (161/1A/1 Rash Behari Avenue, Ballygunge, Gariahat, Kolkata-700019).
Both the stores at New Town and Gariahat was inaugurated by acclaimed actress and Member of Parliament Smt. June Malia.
Further, fashion lovers will be elated to know that the stores will remain fully open, every day (excluding public holidays), from 10 am to 7 pm and 11 am to 8 pm, respectively.
At these new stores, there is something for everyone. With price ranges starting from just ₹900, fashionistas from around the city and beyond are beelining to these hot new stores, this Chaitra
