Dr. Kallol Basu Honoured with Social Impact Excellence Award for Championing Bengali Heritage and Global Social Causes

In a heartwarming celebration of culture, service, and leadership, Dr. Kallol Basu, an advocate for Bengali heritage and committed social worker, was awarded the Social Impact Excellence Award by the Rotary Club of Kasba. The award was presented during a special ceremony held at Pragyan Bhawan, hosted by Dr. Suresh Agarwal, Chairman of the BLISS Foundation.

The event turned into a vibrant confluence of art, culture, and recognition, as eminent personalities from various walks of life came together to honour Dr. Basu’s remarkable contributions. Among those presenting the award were singer Rtn. Pranati Saha, celebrated elocutionist LION Sangita Das, Dr. Koushik Chakraborty, cultural icon Ipsita Chakraborty, dance maestro Indrani Ganguly, and influencer Asish Basak, President of the Rotary Club of Kasba.

Dr. Basu, who holds a Ph.D. in Business Transformation, is currently employed with a leading ITES company in the United States. But his impact extends far beyond the boardroom. As a freelance journalist, heritage campaigner, and active participant in cultural diplomacy, Dr. Basu has become a bridge between communities across continents.

His involvement spans prestigious organisations such as the US-India Historical Society, where he serves on the archival board, and he also volunteers for the US Consulate General, East India. His social outreach includes working with NGOs in both India and the U.S. on issues like youth employment, food security, literacy, and climate action.

Known for his command over spoken word, Dr. Basu is also a trained elocutionist, performing at cultural events across India, the UK, and the USA. His heritage awareness drives in Kolkata have drawn praise for making local history accessible and engaging for younger generations.
