“Annada Shankar Roy” Memorial Award won by prominent poet, writer and Rabindra researcher Dr. Samir Shil

On June 3, “Ananya Annada Shankar Roy Excellence Award” program was organized by LCSF at Abanindra Sabhaghar.

Annada Shankar Roy, the legendary poet of Bengal, was the last representative of the Bengali Renaissance, whose name is written forever in golden letters in Bengali literature.

Acclaimed poet, writer and Rabindra research scholar Dr. Samir Shil was awarded the prestigious “Ananya Annada Shankar Roy Excellence Award”.

Many famous writers, poets, writers, singers, oratorical artists and magazine editors were present at the program that day.

Dr. Samir Shil said-“My personal appeal to all good people is that let us all live in the light. live in goodness, live in Bengal, live in Bengali culture and of course live in Rabindranath.”

In his  Annada Shankar Roy Memorial Lecture, award-winning Dr. Samir Shil highlighted various aspects of Annada Shankar Roy’s post-Rabindra Bengali literature, such as his travelogues, his epic novels, his short stories and above all his extraordinary poetic identity.

At the end of the speech, Dr. Samir Shil recited a poem written by him on the legendary poetic poet Annada Shankar Roy, which was applauded by the audience, which truly deserves praise.

Two books, ‘Kabi Jaydev Katha’ and ‘Manush Namer Nire’, were officially released on this day.

The event, organized by Literary, Cultural and Social Forum at Nandan’s Abanindra Sabhaghar, was attended by Professor Dr. Bimal Kumar Thandar, Katha writer Ramkumar Mukhopadhyay, Dr. Amalkanti Roy, Dr. Vivekananda Chakraborty, Dr. Samor Shil and writer Sukumar Ruidas.

The entire program was directed and hosted by Debkanya Sen, great-granddaughter of Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen.

Asish Basak, Founder-Chairperson of LCSF (Literary Cultural and Social Forum) gave the Vote Of Thanks.
