Kolkata’s rising Kickboxing star teenager Samanyu Sureka had met the Press at Kolkata Press Club on 4th Nov. afternoon. The school kid, who is now in Std. X in a popular school, had won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at the recently held (15 – 19 October, 2025) ISKA AMA World Championship at Brisbane, Australia.
This tournament is sanctioned by International Sports Kickboxing Association (ISKA) – USA organised by ISKA Australia. About 1400 participants representing 42 countries took part in this international high profile tournament. Out of 11 participants representing India, Samanyu, our very own Kolkata boy, has outshone many others.
Team coach and ISKA National Director Mr. Mrityunjoy Roy was present at the felicitation ceremony of Samanyu Sureka at Press Club on 4th November. Samanyu has trained for two months regularly for the said Championship for 2 hours everyday under the able guidance of his Coach.
It is noteworthy that Samanyu would be appearing for his board exams. He plans to continue Kickboxing in future also, along with his studies.
