Singer Debosmita Sarkar Wins Achievers Excellence Award.

Talented singer Debosmita Sarkar has been honored with the “Kriti Utkarsh Samman”, conferred by Lions Club of Kolkata Magnates, Hello Kolkata, and Rotary Club of Kasba.

The grand felicitation ceremony, held at Radha Studio, witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities including social worker Ashish Basak, poetess Sangeeta Das, filmmaker Ashim Chakraborty of Zodiac Films, singer Ayantika, and many others, who jointly felicitated the young artist.

Debosmita, often hailed as a rising star in the world of music, has already made her mark across various platforms. She was nominated by Zee Bangla for her non-film music album and has been a recipient of numerous awards, including the State Sangeet Academy Award. From reality shows such as Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Akash Bangla Superstar to acclaimed performances on various stages, her melodious voice has won admiration from maestros and audiences alike.

Alongside playback singing for ETV Bangla and Zee Bangla telefilms, Debosmita has also lent her voice to several short films screened at the prestigious Kolkata International Micro Film Festival (KIMFF).

Her musical journey began at the tender age of four under the guidance of her mother, later receiving training from renowned maestros including Acharya Jayanta Bose, Pandit Dinanath Mishra, Pandit Sukumar Mitra, Jatileshwar Mukherjee, Adhir Bagchi, and Badal Dhar Choudhury.

Currently, besides her performances in films, television, and stage shows, Debosmita also contributes as a music teacher at M.C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth. Recently, she recorded five songs as a playback singer for Zodiac Production’s film Mrityur Rong Neel. Along with her solo numbers, she has performed duets with legendary artists like Hemanti Shukla, Raghav Chattopadhyay, and Rupankar Bagchi. She has even showcased her acting talent with a cameo role in the film.

Speaking at the event, Ashish Basak, Chief Spokesperson of the Kriti Utkarsh Samman 2025 Selection Panel, said:
