Regional Advisory Committee Meeting of Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education & Development Held in Kolkata
The Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) meeting of the Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education & Development (DTNBWED) was recently held at the organization’s Kolkata office. The session brought together several key stakeholders and advisors to deliberate on pressing issues concerning workers’ education and welfare, especially focusing on the Bengali-speaking workforce residing and working outside West Bengal.
The meeting was presided over by Regional Director Chinmay Bhattacharya and RAC Chairman Santanu Mukherjee, who jointly led in-depth discussions addressing the challenges faced by Bengali workers in other states, including cultural, linguistic, and workplace-related difficulties.
Among the distinguished members and participants were Ashish Paul, A.K. Sengupta, Dr. Nataraj Ray, Kalyan Sengupta, and Basanta Patra. Prominent guests like Subir Roychowdhury and Sanjay Saha also contributed valuable insights during the meeting.
The committee acknowledged the importance of expanding awareness programs, skill development initiatives, and worker rights advocacy, especially for the migrant Bengali-speaking workforce. The discussions aimed at forming strategic approaches to support these workers while preserving their linguistic and cultural identity.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to intensify outreach, strengthen policy recommendations, and continue regional consultations to enhance the impact of DTNBWED’s mission across Eastern India and beyond.
