FPAI Kolkata Celebrates Its 76th Foundation Day with Enthusiasm and Cultural Splendor

The 76th Foundation Day of the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI), Kolkata Branch, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and vibrant spirit on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The event took place at the branch office located in the Nilambar Building on Shakespeare Sarani.

The celebration commenced at 3 PM with a ceremonial lamp lighting, cake cutting, and a soulful rendition of the national anthem on the mouth organ by Indra Mondal. In his inaugural address, Branch Manager Mr. Supratip Majumdar reflected on the organization’s long journey and ongoing initiatives in the field of family welfare.

The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Dr. Partha De (ADHS & DFW), Mr. Amit Kumar (CSR Director, Aditya Birla Jan Seva Trust), Ms. Ranjita Sinha (Secretary, Tollygunge Rishta Garima Griha), Mr. Kishore Sau (President, BNP+), Mr. Ashraf Ali (Director, Right Track), Mr. Mark Malloy (Secretary, Indian Leprosy Mission), Mr. Shakeel Ahmed (Officer-in-Charge, Shakespeare Police Station), Prof. Arindam Mukherjee (Faculty, IISWBM), Mr. Moidul Islam (Chief Representative, RGM News), and Ujjan Samanta and Indra Mondal from the Bengal Transmen Collective. Former Branch Manager Mr. Shubhankar Ray, FPAI President Ms. Tini Dutta, and Vice President Ms. Leena Chakraborty were also present.

Following the guest speeches, a delightful cultural segment was held. Former staff member Sourendranath Mukherjee presented a musical performance, while Animesh Hambir and Firoza Bibi Gazi recited poetry. A captivating duet dance was performed by Chandan Roy and Rahul De.

The program also included a felicitation ceremony honoring the organization’s dedicated staff. Awards for excellence were presented to Dr. Sunil Maji, Shrabani Samanta Mukherjee, Moloy Kumar Patra, Mala Ghosh, Manju Basu, Namita Das, Anusuya Roy, Bipul Chakraborty, and Amrina Parveen.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed commitment to FPAI’s mission for the days to come.
