Nadia celebrated ‘Hool Day’ 2025

Nadia celebrated ‘Hool Day’ on June 29 and 30, 2025 in Kutir Para, Majdia, Nadia district.

It was organized by Dishari, in collaboration with Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Seva Trust and Anandamayi Educational Global Foundation. The All India NGO Welfare Association was the organizer. Shantipur Setu and Krishnanagar Lions Club also extended their support to this great initiative.
The word ‘Hool’ means rebellion or liberation war.
The Hool Rebellion, also known as the Santal Rebellion, was an important rebellion of the Santal community against the British colonial rule. The rebellion on June 30, 1855, was mainly against the exploitative land system of the British, the oppression of landlords and moneylenders, and the revenue system. The rebellion was led by Sidhu, Kanhu, Chand and Bhairav ​​Murmu brothers. May the people of India remember their sacrifice with respect and honour.
