Successful Blood Donation Camp Sends Strong Message of Humanity, Organised by Lions Club of Kolkata Sealdah and Maniktala Chaltabagan Durga Puja Committee

Kolkata, October 4, 2026: Setting a shining example of humanitarian service, a noble blood donation camp was successfully organised in Kolkata on Sunday. The social welfare initiative was jointly organised by the Lions Club of Kolkata Sealdah and the Maniktala Chaltabagan Lohapatti Durga Puja Committee.
The camp was held at 77A/1, Raja Rammohan Sarani, Kolkata–700009, in the Maniktala area, where a large number of people came forward voluntarily to donate blood. The principal objective of the initiative was to contribute towards addressing the shortage of blood and to create greater awareness among the public about the importance of voluntary blood donation.
The organisers highlighted the significance of blood donation through humanitarian messages such as “Give Blood, Save Lives” and “Donate Blood, Be a Hero.” Under the supervision of medical professionals, the donors underwent preliminary health check-ups before blood was collected. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the blood donors as a gesture of encouragement and gratitude.
A notable feature of the camp was the presence of the Mobile Blood Donor Van of Lions District 322B1 Blood Centre. Operated with the support of the Lions Clubs International Foundation, the mobile blood donation infrastructure contributed to making the programme more systematic and effective. The accompanying photographs show medical personnel from the Lions Blood Centre conducting health check-ups of blood donors.
The commendable initiative undertaken by the organisers conveyed a distinctive message of social service amid the festive atmosphere. Alongside the joy and celebrations of Durga Puja, the participation of people from different sections of society in the noble cause of blood donation and saving human lives was truly praiseworthy.
Embracing the spirit that “Blood Donation is a Noble Donation,” the organisers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all blood donors, medical professionals, supporters and well-wishers for their valuable cooperation in ensuring the successful completion of the camp.
