Kolkata, October 4, 2026: The ‘Sundays on Cycle’ cycling initiative was successfully held in Kolkata, conveying a meaningful message of healthy living, social solidarity, and an environmentally sustainable future. The cycling ride commenced at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday from the SAI Main Gate in Salt Lake.
Students, cyclists, athletes, employees of various organisations, and members of the general public participated in the programme with great enthusiasm. Families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts were also encouraged to join the initiative and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
One of the principal objectives of the cycling ride was to promote awareness about reducing environmental pollution and building a healthier and greener future. With the message “Pollution Ka Solution” at its forefront, participants collectively cycled through the city to spread awareness about environmental conservation.
The organisers arranged a limited number of bicycles for the participants, which were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants were advised to carry a photocopy of their Aadhaar card or an Aadhaar identity document available through DigiLocker for availing themselves of the bicycles.
Refreshments were also arranged for the participants. With its positive message of wellness, social harmony, physical fitness, and environmental preservation, the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ initiative concluded successfully.
